Glyphosate resistant pigweed continues to spread across Oklahoma cotton production areas affecting almost all producers.  Although experienced growers are slowly moving back to residual herbicide programs many are still betting on the release and success of future technologies to solve pigweed issues in the near future.  History has taught us that single use herbicide programs are not sustainable.  Therefore integrating these new technologies into weed control programs that continue to heavily emphasize residual herbicide use is going to be the key to sustainability.  This presentation will highlight the effectiveness of both older residual herbicides and their expected role in newly adopted herbicide systems of the future.
