Evaluations of FOV Race 4 Tolerance in Commercial Pimas and Uplands in the San Joaquin Valley

Field and greenhouse evaluations of relative resistance/tolerance of Pima and Upland commercial cultivars to Fusarium oxysporum vas infectum race 4 (FOV-4) have been conducted over a period of over ten years in the San Joaquin Valley.  The field evaluations have been conducted under natural infestations in grower fields, while the greenhouse evaluations have been conducted using the root dip inoculation method.  The trends observed over multiple years of evaluations will be presented and discussed, and the basis for some observed location/site and timing differences will be discussed.
