Fluctuating commodity prices and new farm program regulations have made it easy and often desirable for producers to shift acreage among crops in response to current markets conditions.  Many traditional Mid-south cotton acres have been shifted into corn or soybean production in recent years.  This research examined the growth and agronomic performance of cotton after rotation of the field with soybean.  Cotton yields were improved when soybeans were previously grown on the field, even if the soybeans had been grown two years prior to the cotton being grown.
