Does Herbicide Use in the Preceding Crop Influence Cover Crop Establishment?

Cover crops can suffer effects of herbicide carry over due a use of residual herbicide in previous crop. The objective of this study is determinate which herbicide applied in different stages of a crop, could cause injury to cover crops planted in the fall. A field study was conducted at Agriculture park-university of Arkansas, Fayetteville. Treatments consisted of 9 different residual herbicides applied at different growth stage. 8 cover crops were planted just after harvesting and stand accounts and injury is being evaluated. Data are being statistically analyzed.
