Description:
  • Justification: Reducing drift and achieving consistent coverage through the use of the SPK645 and Redball® Broadcast Hoods for cotton growers and preparing for upcoming technologies.
  • Objective: Introduce cotton growers to a beneficial and economical SPK645 self-propelled retrofit kit to reduce drift while maintaining better coverage of pesticides.
  • Materials & Methods: As a result of 2013 testing, engineered lightweight SPK645 self-propelled retrofit kits that can be mounted to most self-propelled makes and models. Contracted the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, West Central Research and Extension Center in North Platte, Neb. to further verify drift reduction and coverage while using Redball® Broadcast Hoods.
  • Results: Present to cotton growers the SPK645 self-propelled retrofit kit’s ease of use as well as the unit’s environmental, yield and economic benefits.
