Regional Shift of China's Cotton Production

As economic develops, China¡¯s largest cotton production region shifted from Yangtze River valley to Yellow River valley after the reform. Recently, particularly because of the rapid increase of labor wage, cotton sown area in Yellow River valley decreased significantly. On the other hand, cotton production in Northwest increased substantially. In this study, we will answer whether China¡¯s cotton production is experiencing the regional shift again, and understand the factors affecting the shift.
