Evaluation of a Bench Top Mechanical Delinter

This presentation will report on the current research on a new mechancial delinter being developed at the Cotton Production and Processing Research Unit in conjunction with Cotton Inc. The new mechanical delinter is being designed with an empahsis on eliminating chemical delinting.  The presentation will emphasize recent studies on the bench top model where the unit was used to evaluate select abrasive materials, brush materials, and operational speeds.  Cottonseed data to be presented will consist of residual lint, visible mechanical damage, and germination.
