Historically, thrips is the most consistent and widespread insect pest of cotton in the Texas High Plains. Following the phase out of effective, in-furrow chemical control option (aldicarb), seed treatments are the dominant chemical control option currently available for thrips management. Three different neonicotinoid seed treatments were evaluated by recording the adult and immature thrips numbers at seedling stage of cotton in multiple locations. Results will be discussed in light of prevailing weather conditions and efficacy of seed treatments.
