The presentation will provide an update on the development of an industry-wide standard for the leaf hairiness of cotton varieties.  Currently, each company uses a subjective quantification method and comparisons across varieties is difficult, is confusing for producers, can impact cotton leaf grades, and affects ginning efficiency.  The development of an industry-wide standard will be based on objective measurements.  This presentation will summarize the 2013 findings and the potential for moving forward with the industry-wide standard.
