There is considerable interest within the Australian cotton industry to develop new LS Upland cotton varieties to gain the high premiums paid for fine long and strong staple fibre which can be used for the production of yarns in the premium yarn count range. Australia is predominately equipped with super high capacity saw gins with a handfull of roller gins. This preliminary study was conducted to determine the benefits of ginning these LS Upland varieties by roller ginning instead ot the more traditional saw ginning
