The influence of amount and frequency of soaking of wooly croton on cotton fleahopper emergence from overwintered eggs was evaluated in the laboratory. Five treatments were evaluated including: (T1) 24-hours soaking, (T2) 2-hours soaking then spraying daily, (T3) 2-hours soaking first day, 30 minutes soaking for next seven days, and then spraying onward, (T4) 2-hours soaking first day, 30 minutes soaking for next seven days, and then a quick once-a-day dipping in water onward, and (T5) 15 minutes soaking every-other-day (adapted from Breene et al. 1989). The T4 appears to be the best soaking protocol for the best emergence performance.
