Fusarium wilt, caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. vasinfectum (FOV), is a major disease of cotton found throughout the cotton belt of the United States.  This talk will present the combined results of a two-year survey of FOV isolates, noting the incidence of unique and aggressive genotypes as well as the traditional races of FOV.  Molecular profiles and pathogenicity assays for unique genotypes will also be presented, including those of isolates recovered from Mississippi, Alabama and Arkansas with sequence similarity (of the elongation factor region) to FOV race 4 found in California.
