The Plant Management Network (PMN), a nonprofit publishing effort supported by nearly 85 organizations, including land-grant universities, scientific societies, and agribusiness, will launch an online webcast resource to help ensure growers and crop consultants in the cotton industry are aware of the best, science-based management practices for the field. This resource, titled Focus on Cotton, is an extension of the Plant Management Network's mission: to enhance the health, management, and production of crops. Through monthly webcast presentations and the cotton-specific information from Cotton Incorporated and its partnering land-grant universities, PMN will help to enhance the health, management, and production of cotton crops. The audience for Focus on Cotton is growers, the consultants that advise them, applied researchers, commodity groups, and others interested in cotton crop management. Its scope includes many applied crop science disciplines, such as agronomy, plant disease, entomology, nematology, weed science, and others. Focus on Cotton will help ensure quality content across diverse cotton growing regions thanks to an equally diverse editorial review committee chaired by Dr. Ryan Kurtz, an entomologist at Cotton Incorporated. In this presentation, Focus on Cotton's webcasts, scope, editorial structure, and committee will be discussed.
