DeltaPine 555 BR once accounted for approximately 85% of Georgia cotton acreage.  Since the elimination of single-gene Bollgard technology, acreage in Georgia has shifted largely to varieties with Bollgard II and Widestrike technologies.  This paper examines this shift in acreage by technology and variety, examines the yield of newer varieties based on UGA OVT and county trials, and examines recommended management regimes and associated seed, herbicide, and insecticide costs by technology type.
