For a public cotton breeding program, it is important to have appropriate facilities for the safe and effective acid-delinting of high volumes of seed. In 2010, the Texas A&M Cotton Improvement Program at Lubbock designed and had constructed a new delinting facility. The facility includes new sinks, a cement mixer, acid/water holding tanks, a drying system, and a novel drainage system for high-volume seed processing. Extra space was allowed for the future addition of upgraded equipment to further accelerate the delinting process. Detailed descriptions and photos of the design and construction process will be included in this poster.
