Planting dates of Biotech cotton varieties were evaluated in southwestern Sonora Mexico in order to determine the best relationship among these parameters. Degree days were calculated to each of the three planting dates evaluated. Seed percent germination, vigor, and insect or disease damage were monitored in each planting date. Seed cotton yield was obtained for each of the six varieties evaluated in each planting date. Results showed a decreased seed cotton yield for latter plantings on all varieties. Higher yield was obtained in early planting but poor germination, insect and disease problems are a concern with this planting date.
