PHY 339 WRF will be offered for sale in limited quantities by Dow AgroSciences  and PhytoGen Cottonseed in 2013.  This new variety has WideStrike ®, transgenic two- gene Bt, insect protection (W), as well as Genuity Roundup Ready Flex® (RF) technologies.  It has good to excellent seedling vigor, narrow and erect structure, fruit initiation near the mainstem, and med-tall plant height. It is an early maturing cultivar with high yield potential and excellent fiber properties amongst upland cultivars.  Field trials indicate it is well adapted to many of the northern parts of the Cotton Belt, where early maturing cultivars are desired due to relatively low heat unit accumulation.  In both public sector variety trials and on-farm grower trials, PHY 339 WRF performed favorably in its areas of adaption.
