Tools to Conduct On-Farm Tests

Wednesday, January 4, 2012: 1:30 PM-3:30 PM
Crystal Ballroom A-C (Orlando World Center Marriott)
This workshop will present tools that will help you conduct robust on-farm tests to answer questions such as: - What is the best planting rate for my soil type? - What variety should I grow on my farm? - Is my variable rate growth regulator application saving money and/or adding yield? The tools to be discussed include soil and yield maps, imagery and sensor data, and ways to analyze the data to help decide if any yield or cost differences measured really matter. The workshop is of interest to consultants who want to provide enhanced services to their producers, researchers and extension agents who conduct on-farm research, and producers who are or want to start their own on-farm tests.
