As a natural product, cotton color has a distribution or variation.  Since the cotton color reflects the physical properties of cotton, the distribution or variation of the cotton color may indicate the variation in other fiber physical properties that may influence the textile processability and product quality. We will present preliminary research on obtaining the color distribution of a cotton sample based on high resolution color images and examine its relationship with color grade and other factors such as trash.
