Enhanced Efficiency Nitrogen Fertilizers for Cotton in the Southeast - Where Do They Fit?

A number of enhanced efficiency nitrogen fertilizers or additives are currently being marketed and tested on cotton in the southeast.  These products include polymer coated urea, urease and nitrification inhibitors and additives such as humates and calcium chloride.  The theories behind how these products work, research results to date and overview of where these products fit in the overall nitrogen fertilization scheme for cotton in the southeast will be discussed.
