Residual herbicides are necessary to manage glyphosate- resistant Palmer amaranth in cotton.  In addition to preplant or preemergence residual herbicides, residual postemergence herbicides such as s-metolachlor (Dual Magnum) and acetochlor (Warrant) may also play a role.  Pyroxasulfone (Zidua) is a new herbicide with characteristics similar to Dual and Warrant.  Research was conducted in 2011 to determine efficacy and crop tolerance with Zidua applied preemergence and postemergence.
