Insecticide resistance in the tarnished plant bug is most likely associated with increased detoxification gene expression. To better understand the molecular mechanisms of insecticide resistance, the insecticide-susceptible and –resistant strains of  Lygus lineolaris were subjected to a microarray analysis. This cDNA microarray gene expression information could be used to identify new genes that are associated with insecticide resistance development in the tarnished plant bug.
