Synergistic Interaction of Bio-Active Reagents with Bt Against Cotton Worms

Complete Bt cotton systems put heavy selection pressure on Lepidoptera insects. Potential development of Bt resistance is a major concern of Bt plant technology. To make transgenic cotton versatile and durable, we investigated several bio-active reagents for synergistic interaction with Bt toxin. Results showed that avidin and proteinase inhibitors have potential to be used for expanding control range and delaying Bt resistance development.
