The first year of a field study was conducted to determine the ability of a soybean trap crop to prevent dispersal of stink bugs from peanut into cotton in a peanut-cotton farmscape. Results indicate that three species of stink bugs, the southern green stink bug, the brown stink bugs, and the green stink bug prefer soybean to cotton and soybean has great potential for serving as a trap crop for these stink bugs.
