cDNA libraries were prepared from the youngest fully expanded leaf on 6-week-old cotton seedlings that had either been heat stressed in a growth chamber at 42 oC for 4 or 24 hours (HS) or non-heat stressed controls grown at 25 oC (control).  These libraries were submitted for deep sequencing using a Roche 454-Flex sequencer.  This poster will present an analysis of the results of this sequencing describing the expression level of genes that are up or down regulated by heat stress.  The specific genes up or down regulated and what these indicate relative to the physiological processes differentially regulated will also be discussed.  How we intend to utilize these sequences will also be presented.
