There is a wide range of genotypes of cotton in the world and only a few gene banks that collect all genotypes. There are no methodologies to differentiate genotypes. Thus, it was necessary to develop such tools in order to facilitate the rapid identification of genotypes for cotton breeding. We developed a molecular key from specific molecular primers for the differentiation of alloplasms of cotton (Gossypium Spp.). Currently, we are using Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) in order to  differentiate another Cotton species. The latest version of the key will be presented.
