Part of Symposium "Mining the diversity of germplasm for cotton improvement" being organized by M. Ulloa.

Genetic diversity is often thought of in terms of species diversity and how it can be used to improve plants, i.e. the use of exotic germplasm. Genetic diversity can also be thought of, found and used that is contemporary but from a different geographic location. How this can contribute to germplasm and variety development will be explored.
