Cotton stickiness is very serious problem for cotton spinning because it reduces productivity and yarn quality. The primary source of cotton stickiness is attributed to the presence of excess sugars on the cotton fibes. These sugar deposits are produced either by cotton plant(physiological sugars) or by phloem-feeding insects(entomologiccal sugars), with the latter being the most common source of cotton stickiness. This method detects easily the amount of honeydew droplets by insects with naked eyes. The Test results are independent of sample conditioning and atomspheric condition during test.
