A test was done in 2010 to look at the potential for injury when Sequence or Ignite herbicides were applied in a tank mix with foliar insecticides recommended for thrips control in seedling cotton (Acephate, Bidrin and Dimethoate). The variety used for testing was Phytogen 375WRF, which has some but not complete tolerance to Ignite herbicide. The seedling plants were already seriously injured by thrips at the time of application. Ignite caused significant crop injury within a few days of application; whereas, Sequence only caused minor injury. All insecticides significantly reduced thrips numbers but did not have a significant impact on phytotoxicity when applied with combination with Sequence or Ignite. Maturiy was delayed and yield was reduced by treatment with Ignite but not by insecticide.
