Verticillium wilt causes substantial losses in cotton in the Southern High Plains of Texas. Cultivar selection is one of the best tools to minimize yield losses due to the disease. Commerical varieties and advanced breeding lines are tested at six sites to determine the ones that yield best, and have the least amount of wilt symptoms.
