Crop reflectance is being utilized as an indicator for cotton plant height and leaf tissue nitrogen prediction. On-the-go commercially available sensors were utilized to detect diffferences in growth and leaf nitrogen from plots fertilized at rates of 0, 40, 80, and 120 lb N/acre. Efforts are directed towards the utilization of this information to assist in variable rate N ferilization.
