Recent observations in cotton grown in the Brazos River Valley indicate that brown stink bug (BSB), Euschistus servus, is increasing in abundance. Previous research shows that it is more difficult to control with insecticides than other stink bug pest species. Additional research is needed with BSB from this production area to facilitate insecticide selection which is crucial to minimize damage. During the 2009 growing season, we evaluated the toxicity of selected technical insecticides and insecticide mixtures for blacklight trap-captured adults using the adult glass vial technique. Results obtained are discussed relative to southern green stink bug, Nezara viridula, which is also an important pest species in the area.
