Curative foliar and at planting insecticides were evaluated for their efficacy towards thrips in the Texas High Plains.  Among all treatments, Temik at 3.5 lbs/acre provided the best and longest control, lasting 24-30 days whereas the seed treatment Avicta Complete Cotton provided about 18-21 days of control.  Among the foliar products evaluated, Orthene was most efficacious followed by Dimethoate.  Neither Sprayable Sulfur nor Carbine consistently provided adequate control.
