Three cotton cultivars were grown at Stoneville, MS in 2008; all were longer staple upland varieties based on the Mississippi Regional Cotton Variety Trials.  These three cultivars were treated similarly in ginning except that half of each cultivar was saw ginned with one saw-type lint cleaner and the other half was ginned with a high-speed roller gin with a more gentle lint cleaner.  Samples were analyzed for moisture content, AFIS fiber properties, and HVI fiber properties.  This presentation will discuss the differences and similarities in the resulting cotton.
