Bayer CropScience has developed in-house glyphosate tolerant GlyTol™ cotton and stacks of GlyTol™ with LibertyLink® cotton.  Contingent upon regulatory approval, GlyTol™ cotton is planned for commercial release in 2009 and will provide US cotton growers with new cotton varieties with season-long tolerance to various formulations of glyphosate herbicide.  GlyTol™ + LibertyLink® cotton is planned for commercial release in 2010, pending regulatory approval, and will provide US cotton growers with new cotton varieties with season-long tolerance to glyphosate herbicides as well as tolerance to Ignite® herbicide.

Extensive field testing in Texas of GlyTol™ cotton was conducted internally and with University cotton specialists and weed scientists from 2006-2008 and with GlyTol + LibertyLink® in 2008.  Results of these replicated field trials conducted with GlyTol® and GlyTol + LibertyLink cotton in Texas will be presented.
