9447 Improving on Army Field Gauze for Lethal Vascular Injuries: A Progress Report

The development of improved haemostatic agents for the cessation of blood flow using different cotton, chitosan, and clay materials was pursued with the idea of creating a conformable, unified dressing that rapidly stops blood flow in a hemorrhaging artery.  Progress towards developing this type of product from woven and non woven cotton-based materials will be discussed.
