In 2001, Tam 94L-25 was chemically mutated with EMS. The M2 generation was grown in Lubbock, TX, in 2002. More than 1200 M3 plants were grown in College Station in 2004. Twenty five M4 lines were selected on the basis of fiber traits in 2006 and grown in replicated trials in 2007 and 2008. Results from these trials indicate significant variation for lint yield, fiber qualities, and other morphological traits.
