Status of Boll Weevil Eradication in Texas

This paper will provide information and statistics on the boll weevil eradication program in Texas. The paper will discuss program progress in west Texas and in the zones in South and East Texas. It will provide information about recent program referenda, the 2008 growing season and mapped cotton acres in each zone. Historical and 2008 trapping and treatment information will be discussed. Program challenges and solutions will be discussed.
