Several field trials were established to evaluate the potential of site-specific application of the fumigant Telone to better manage nematodes in cotton. Nematode management zones were created for several cotton fields in Tensas Parish, Louisiana that were infested with the Southern root-knot nematode. The fields were divided into various zones based on ECa. A number of paired rows either treated with Telone or left untreated were included in strips in each field that ran through the different treatment zones.  A comparison of the response between the Telone application and the untreated could then be made in each zone to determine the validity of using ECa as an effective tool to develop management zones for nematodes.
