In-furrow treatment of Temik at 3.5 lb and 5 lbs, seed treatments consisting of Aeris, Avicta Complete Cotton, Gaucho Grande, and foliar applications of Orthene 90S at 3.5 oz were evaluated for efficacy to western flower thrips at one site in 2007 and two locations in 2008.  Of the preventive treatments, Temik appeared to provide the longest residual control followed closely by Aeris and Avicta CC.  Gaucho Grande provided only about one weeks worth of control.  Based on net return by product used in 2007, Temik at 3.5 lbs provided the greatest return at ~$180 per ac followed by Temik at 5 lbs and Orthene at ~$148 and ~$145 per ac respectively.
