Cotton growth and development in rotation with perennial grasses and peanut as compared to cotton/peanut rotations will be discussed.  Perennial grasses have been shown to impact soil quality and water holding capacity as well as organic matter.  Both systems have the best cover crop and conservation tillage practices used for growing the crop.  Soil quality improvements have an influence on cotton growth and development and nitrogen needs.  These impacts will be discussed at length.
