In reniform nematode (RN) Rotylenchulus reniformis, the young females penetrate the root and elicit the formation of the feeding sites or syncytia. It is hypothesized that the events that occurs at the syncytia determine the degree of susceptibility to the RN. Expression of selected genes was monitored at 0, 8, 16, and 24-DAI. Knowledge of the key aspects of the resistant reactions may lead to differentiate resistant reactions in cotton.
