[As part of my Outstanding Research Award in Crop Physiology in 2008, this presentation is the paper delivered as a follow up]

 This paper will briefly review some key physiology papers in cotton from the past and then suggest some current activities and technologies being developed to provide substantial future opportunities for impact from collaboration across the molecular biology, crop physiology and plant breeding boundaries.
