As corn acreage continues to increase more and more cotton follows corn in rotation. Much higher nitrogen (N) levels are needed to optimize corn production. These higher N levels can lead to potential residual N levels remaining in the soil that could carryover into the subsequent cotton crop. This presentation will summarize research in the Mississippi Delta to measure cotton yield response to residual N levels and dis cuss factors that could influence the residual N remaining.
