Because of recent increases in the value of cottonseed relative to cotton lint, the proportions of the overall value of the revenue stream of cotton producers has shifted. This study consists of an analysis of how inclusion of cottonseed values into crop insurance calculations would change historical premiums and expected coverage levels for cotton production in the Lower Coastal Bend of Texas. Included in this study are simulated results based on current cost of production information and county average yield data for the Lower Coastal Bend of Texas.
