Precision Management of Production Costs: Standardized Record Keeping For Cotton's New World |
From seed to harvest, cotton growers collect and store vast amounts of information. But getting the most benefit from all this data requires a more standardized system of data collection and management, something that's been sorely lacking.
Cotton Incorporated, working with Red Wing Software and MapShots, continues to fund research into the development of a precision standardized system that will allow growers to determine and manage their true production costs of cotton and other crops...and allow for comparisons and benchmarking across regions, farms, and counties.
This modular program includes mapping, accounting, field records and harvest records all in one system, along with the capability to interface with other precision ag equipment/programs and with gins. And, the program has proven to be valuable to growers in terms of ease of use, effectiveness and impact on their operation management.
In conjunction with Cotton Grower magazine and the Precision Ag Institute, Cotton Incorporated is providing an opportunity for growers to hear from growers who have used the program, along with manufacturers and Cotton Incorporated representatives about how this new, standardized vision can be of value to their operation.
