Comparative studies between some insecticides and Trichogramma parasite against bollworms on cotton in Upper Egypt
These experiments had been done in Upper Egypt in three different regions north , south and east to study the effect and efficacy of some insecticide in comparison to using the Trichogramma parasite in season 2007 .
Two different insecticides from two different groups had been used in the three different regions twice every season according to the number of the Pectinophora’s moths and Gossypiella’s moths caught in the traps .
On the other hand , the parasite had been reared and released once every ten days , until the number of releases had reached nine per season .
The result showed that, the highest percentage of infestation was in the north regions with a percent of 1.09 %, then the east regions with a percent of 0.66 %, then the south regions with a percent of 0.49 %.
On the other hand , the lowest percent of infestation was recorded in the region treated by the parasite trichogramma with percent 0.23 % .
