Winter Wheat Tolerance to Fall Applied Envoke Under Two Planting Methods as a Cover Crop for Cotton

Drew T. Ellis, University of Tennessee, 2431 Joe Johnson Dr., 252 Ellington Bldg, Knoxville, TN 37996

Winter wheat is a commonly used cover crop in cotton. Control of glyphosate resistant horseweed and other winter weeds in cotton can be controlled with an application of Envoke either preplant or mid-post. This study observed the effects of Envoke applied at various rates and applied at various preemergence timings on winter wheat. Broadcast sowing and drilling of winter wheat were the two methods of planting utilized in this study. Herbicide applications were applied at either early-preplant or after planting but before emergence. Data collection included wheat tolerance and weed control as well as cotton yield.
