A number of new ‘enhanced efficiency” fertilizers have recently become available for use on cotton in the southeast. Most of these have not been adequately tested in replicated field trials. This presentation will report on yield studies done in 2007 on cotton using a number of products and at a number of locations. Some of the products include Avail for phosphorous and Nutrisphere-N, Agrotain and Excelis for nitrogen. Other materials added to liquid nitrogen solutions designed to increase N-efficiency will also be reported on. Loss of N by volatilization from granular urea and liquid N solution (UAN) with and without urease inhibitor products will also be reported. A closed chamber technique to measure volatilization will also be presented.
