A host-plant preference survey was conducted during the February to November periods of 2004 and 2005 to determine the seasonal presence of stink bugs (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae) on cotton, alfalfa, plus over 20 prevalent Texas High Plains weed hosts. Stink bug abundance factors discussed will include the identification of key feeding and reproductive hosts, north-south geographical gradient differences, seasonal host sequencing of key hosts, and possible species-specific differences associated with host selection or seasonal abundance.
